PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine that can record and store a huge amount of data of received FAX signals and realize a small internal memory capacity, downsizing, power saving and cost reduction or the like. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine 10 is provided with a video recorder 30 and a television receiver 31 connected thereto as external devices, a CPU 17 temporarily records FAX data received from a communication line and not immediately printed out to a memory 18, a data conversion section 21 converts the data into image data, temporarily stores the converted data again to the memory 18, the memory 18 records the data to the video recorder 30 via a data input output section 23 under the control of an external device control section 22 and the television receiver 31 displays the data on its large screen. The data conversion section 21 converts the image data displayed on the screen via the data input output section 23 into FAX data under the control of the external device control section 22 on the basis of control information of a button input section 11, the memory 18 stores the FAX data and a printer 14 prints out the FAX data.
