PURPOSE: To provide an alternate lock device which is improved so as to be further miniaturized without marring the stability of the operation thereof. CONSTITUTION: The alternate lock device has a case member (21), a latch member (31), a biasing member (compressed coil spring 32), and a trace member (1). The latch member (31) is slidably accommodated in the case member, and has different-shaped heart cams (4, 5) on both surfaces thereof. The biasing member is arranged between the case member and the latch member, for energizing the latch member in a direction that protrudes from the case member. The trace member (1) is shaped like a rectangular ring with its part being cut away. The trace member (1) has its free ends engage with the heart cams, and then it is borne by the case member. According to the alternate lock device, the trace member is rockably borne by the case member, and a portion of a side wall of the case member, corresponding to a rocking range of the trace member, is removed, and an inner peripheral edge (lower edge 28) of the removed portion (through hole 27) functions to restrict the rocking range of the trace member.
