PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the surface roughness of a reflection surface for reflecting incident light to reduce noise in an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium wherein a reflection film, a lower dielectric film, a recording film and an upper dielectric film are layered in this order on a substrate, light is made incident from the upper dielectric film side and the reproduction of a signal is performed using the reflected light from at least the recording film is characterized in that the surface roughness of the recording film of the interface between the recording film and the upper dielectric film is adjusted to be <=4 Å. |
