PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination tool for a vehicle with luminous intensity distribution characteristics wide in the horizontal direction and narrow in the vertical direction and of excellent design. SOLUTION: With the illumination tool for a vehicle 1 consisting of a light source 2, an elliptical face system reflective face 3 having the light source nearly adjusted to a first focus, and a projection lens 4 for giving reflective light from the elliptical face system reflective face 3 appropriate luminous intensity distribution characteristics, the projection lens 4 is composed of end face lens parts 4S with each halved part cut out at vertical cross section passing the light axis of aspherical/spherical lenses made to face each other at the cross section side and a plurality of diffusion lens parts 4W set as cylindrical lenses connecting between the end face lens parts 4S, with which, a novel appearance and appropriate luminous intensity distribution characteristics hitherto unknown are given to this type of illumination tool for a vehicle. |
