<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting start device which is reduced in size by decreasing its transformer in size. SOLUTION: A primary and a secondary winding, 111 and 112, are provided to one part 10a of an open magnetic circuit core 10, and a transformer 11 is composed of the primary winding 111, and the secondary winding 112 which steps up a voltage applied to the primary winding 111 and outputs the boosted voltage. A primary and a secondary winding, 121 and 122, are provided to the other part 10b of the open magnetic circuit core 10, a transformer 12 is composed of the primary winding 121 and the secondary winding 122, which steps up the voltage applied to the primary winding 121 from the secondary winding 112 of the transformer 11 and applies the enhanced voltage to an electric-discharge lamp connected to the secondary winding 122, and an integraed transformer 1 is composed of the transformer 11 and the transformer 12. The part 10a of the open magnetic circuit 10 is set smaller in the sectional area than in the other part 10b.</p> |
