PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoding method, an encoding device, and a decoding device for efficiently encoding and decoding an object image. SOLUTION: The encoding method for encoding the object image constituted of a binary image discriminating the inside and the outside of an object area, a texture image, and a multi-valued shape image representative of transmission information of the object includes a dividing stage for dividing the object image into prescribed blocks and a nodal point selecting stage for selecting such nodal points as a reference pixel of interpolation using a prescribed function that the error of this interpolation can be within a prescribed range, thus efficiently encoding and decoding the object image.
