PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and effectively take measures against trouble when various kinds of trouble are caused in a printer engine part in an image forming device where the printer engine part and a printer controller part are separated and they communicate with each other through a video interface. SOLUTION: When a fixing device 110 is in a trouble state, a printer engine part CPU 119 informs a printer controller part CPU 120 of fixing trouble through the video interface 121. Every time the CPU 120 is informed of the fixing trouble after turning on the power source of the image forming device, it counts the number of fixing trouble occurring times until the present. When the counted value exceeds a specified number, the occurrence of the fixing trouble is displayed on a display part 4 at the time of turning on the power source next, and also controls a relay 122 through a control signal conductor 130 so as to directly restrain energizing a fixing heater 114. When normal image forming operation is performed before the counted value exceeds a specified value, the counted value is reset. |
