PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that can reduce a time required for detecting a direction of an original and allow an operator to detect the original suitably for the occasion. SOLUTION: The image forming device includes an image input means that receives image signals of a plurality of pages, an image forming means that forms an image of the image signals on a medium, a control means that controls image forming by the image forming means and an original direction decision means that decides a direction of a plurality of the placed originals so as to output a decision result corresponding to the originals, and the decision means has a recognition rate priority mode where the automatic recognition rate takes precedence over the productivity and a productivity priority mode where the productivity takes precedence over the recognition rate and outputs the decision result on the basis of each corresponding priority mode. |
