PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor device for vehicle, which monitors the rear of a vehicle in a wide range by a small number of photographing devices. SOLUTION: The monitor device for vehicle is provided with a photographing means which is installed on the vehicle and has a wide-visual field lens for photographing the periphery of the vehicle in a wide range, a picture extracting means which extracts a picture in a prescribed range from the photographed picture obtained through the wide-visual field lens by the photographing means, a display means which displays the picture extracted by the picture extracting means, and an obstacle detecting means for detecting obstacles in the periphery of the vehicle, and pictures in directions of obstacles detected by the obstacle detecting means are extracted from the photographed picture and are enlarged and displayed on the display part.
