PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily select and set a picture quality mode suiting his taste with easy operation when reproducing a video in a reproducing device capable of reproducing the video in a plurality of picture quality modes. SOLUTION: Address data of video data recorded on a disk 1 is stored in a memory 14 in accordance with an input from an input device 15, and a video signal based on video data from a position (point A) indicated by the address data stored in the memory 14 to a position (point B) distant a prescribed length from the point A is subjected to picture quality adjustment based on the set condition of a picture quality mode by a picture quality adjustment circuit 12 and is reproduced and outputted and is next subjected to picture quality adjustment based on the set condition of another picture quality mode and is reproduced and outputted. Thus the video from the point A to the point B is repeatedly reproduced in different picture quality modes.
