COMMUNICATION SYSTEM CONTROLLING METHOD AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable each node to grasp what logical address the nodes connected to a bus are provided with and how many nodes of the logical address are connected to the bus in a communication system constituted so that a physical address is automatically allocated to each node according to a connection state between the nodes. SOLUTION: A communication apparatus which becomes a node has an address table 6. The physical addresses and the logical addresses of itself and other nodes connected to the bus are written in this address table 6. The contents of the address table 6 are read and written by an addressing program 7, which also performs inquiry of an address to the other nodes connected to a P1394 bus, transmission/reception of an answer command and confirmation of the physical address and the logical address of its own node through a digital I/F.
