The invention concerns a method for preparing an active principle based on high-molecular weight polymerized proteins, said method comprising the following successive steps which consist in: solubilizing in aqueous phase a material rich in proteins; controlled and limited enzymatic hydrolyzing of the solution obtained in (i) with an enzymatic hydrolysis rate selected to maintain the monomer proteins with mole weight from 20000 Da to 30000 Da; separating the soluble and insoluble phases; and polymerizing the proteins by adding a polymerizing agent. The invention is useful for cosmetic treatment of the skin.
