PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor thermal adhesive polyester film as a dielectric film which is given an external packaging function, without increasing the external packaging in size and weight, improved in adhesion properties by thermal adhesive resin, has sufficient thermal adhesive properties as an external package, is capable of keeping a winding-type capacitor uniform in external packaging shape, and superior in blocking resistance characteristics and a capacitor using the same. SOLUTION: A thermal adhesive resin layer is formed, at least, on the one surface of a polyester resin base film for the formation of a thermal adhesive polyester film. The thermal adhesive resin layer if formed of amorphous copolymer polyester resin, 1.0 to 15 mass% spherical and monodisperse inactive particles are contained in the thermally adhesive resin, a contact angle of water on the surface of the thermal adhesive resin layer is between 60 deg. to 75 deg., and a contact angle of diiodomethane on the surface of the thermal adhesive resin layer is in the range of 30 deg. to 35 deg..
