PURPOSE: A method for compensating a loss of a cable and an adapter of a spectrum analyzer is provided to correct the loss of a cable or an adaptor by using a predetermined correction value stored in a spectrum analyzer. CONSTITUTION: A database of a computer is transmitted and stored to a storage portion of a spectrum analyzer(S10). A user connects the spectrum analyzer with a measuring target and a source by using a cable or the cable and an adaptor(S20). The user checks the used cable and the adaptor by operating the spectrum analyzer(S30). The spectrum analyzer measures data to be measured and stores them(S40). The spectrum analyzer performs a correction operation for the measured data(S50). The spectrum analyzer displays the corrected data(S60).
