PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil level sensor having a float switch that can be applied regardless of the using condition of the equipment (container) to be applied and can steadily realize smooth operation. SOLUTION: The oil level sensor 200 comprises a float switch 100 that is installed in a container S such as a lubricant oil tank, a fuel tank for an internal combustion engine, other water tanks, or the like. When the quantity of the fluid such as the oil contained in the container S reaches a specified level or lower, a conduction member 4 fitted to the column-shape float 1 floating on the fluid level W conducts to the container S and a signal is outputted. The conduction member 4 is connected to a lead member 2 having flexibility and the float 1 can float freely on the fluid level W within the range permitted by the lead member 2.
