PURPOSE: A heater with a double heat exchanger is provided to achieve improved heat efficiency, while allowing the heat exchanger to be used for hot water and/or hot air heater. CONSTITUTION: A heater comprises the first medium heat exchange tank(11) connected to an inlet pipe(13) and an overheat prevention unit(15), which is arranged along a heater body(10) having an exhaust pipe(17) arranged at the top of the heater body and a burner(19) arranged at the bottom of the heater body; and a heat exchanger(20) including the second medium heat exchange tank(21) and the first medium heat exchange tank(31), which is accommodated in the heater body. The second medium heat exchange tank is connected to a central connection pipe(23) and side connection pipes(25a,25b). The side connection pipe is extended penetrating through the heater body so as to allow the second medium in the second medium heat exchange tank to be used for supplementation and/or circulation. The first medium heat exchange tank has an end communicated to the first medium heat exchange tank and the other end communicated to an outlet pipe(37) which is connected to the inlet pipe.
