PURPOSE: A position and direction sensing system is provided to be capable of sensing a direction and a position of a movement object by electrodes disposed at a bottom surface while supplying a power. CONSTITUTION: Electrodes of a diamond shape are disposed at a space bottom surface, and three pairs of electrode tables(AL,BL,CL)(AR1,BR1,CR1)(AR2,BR2,CR2) consisting of three electrodes are fixed at a movable object in such a manner that the movable object contacts to the electrodes during a motion. A direction of the movable object is determined from three points by disposing the electrode tables by a triangle shape. Among the electrodes of the diamond shape, electrodes in each row and electrodes in each column are interconnected so as to have a switch arrangement of a matrix type.
