PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device wherein a sound generated from a traverse moving system is small when a spindle motor system and an optical head are moved during accessing. SOLUTION: This optical disk device is provided with an optical head, a motor driving section for rotating a disk medium, a rotational speed detection section for detecting a rotational speed of the disk medium, a track moving section for moving the optical head so as to move an optical spot in the width direction of the information track of the disk medium, a rotational speed changing time calculation section for calculating rotational speed changing time necessary for changing a current rotational speed of the disk medium to a target rotational speed, a speed profile generation section for generating a moving speed profile which defines the changing situation of the moving speed of the track moving section according to the rotational speed changing time when the optical head is moved from a current position of the disk medium to a target position, and a track movement control section for controlling the moving speed of the track moving section according to the moving speed profile.
