PURPOSE: A liquid crystal gel cosmetic composition for skin whitening, containing 5,15-diacetyl-3-benzoyllathyrol is provided which is excellent in percutaneous absorption, stability, skin whitening effect, etc. CONSTITUTION: The liquid gel cosmetic composition for skin whitening comprises 50 to 80% by weight of propylene glycol, 20 to 40% by weight of a mixture containing ceramide, a non-ionic surfactant, cetostearyl alcohol, cholesterol and oil in a ratio of 2 to 3:1 to 3:2 to 4:4 to 6:5 to 7 and 0.00001 to 10% by weight of 5,15-diacetyl-3-benzoyllathyrol.
