PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance energy efficiency and current density of an electrochemical device by thinning the thickness of a high polymer solid electrolyte film while keeping its contact resistance against an electrode low without damaging physical properties of the electrode. SOLUTION: A high polymer solid electrolyte comprising stretched porous polytetrafluoroethylene and a high polymer electrolyte resin contained in its porous void part is integrally formed on the surface of the electrode by using a solvent or a solution of a high polymer solid electrolyte to obtain this high polymer solid electrolyte-electrode united body. This high polymer solid electrolyte-electrode united body is for a high polymer solid electrolyte fuel cell in particular. The electrodes may be formed on both surfaces of the high polymer solid electrolyte. |
