PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for preventing heat generated at lighting of a discharge lamp from being transmitted to electronic parts in a starting device and for radiating outside heat generated from the electronic parts in the starting device. SOLUTION: With a structure in which a discharge lamp bulb 40 and a high-voltage transformer PT for its start-up as well as a circuit block 37 consisting of coils L1, L2, a capacitor C, a switch SW or the like are arranged close to each other, at least one portion or more thermal insulation wall are fitted against the circuit block 37 so as to shield heat from the discharge lamp bulb 40. A case body 30, for instance, of thermal insulation resin will do as a thermal insulation wall. It is preferable to set at least one air layer or more between the thermal insulation wall and the circuit block 37. Or in stead, a protrusion may be set to radiate heat from the circuit block 37, or an outer periphery of the circuit block 37 may be wrapped with a high thermal- conductance member. |
