PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a background picture generator and its program, which generates a wide background picture at a high accuracy, based on a moving picture, even when using a large camera. SOLUTION: The generator generates a wide background picture based on a moving picture taken by a photographing camera and camera parameter signals measured during photographing, and comprises a means 10 for correcting the camera lens distortion of the picture in each frame forming the moving picture, a means 20 for applying the geometric transform to the picture in each frame on specified reference coordinates after correction of the lens distortion, based on the camera parameter signals, and an analyzing means 40 for superposing the geographic-transformed stored pictures one above another on the reference coordinates to generate a pixel value for displaying a wide screen background picture at each coordinate point on the reference coordinates, using a pixel value at the coordinate point in the frame on the coordinate point thereof. |
