PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus of manufacturing a grid for a battery im proved in productivity and free from deformation. SOLUTION: In the apparatus of manufacturing the grid for the battery, mesh grids are formed by moving up and down a plurality of upper cutters arranged on an intermittently moving metal sheet in step from the side end of a metal sheet along the moving direction of the metal sheet to press and expand the notch in the metal sheet. The upper cutter arranged on each step in step comprises two or more than two cutters lined up along the moving direction of the metal sheet, wherein the shape of one cutter is at least different from that of a cutter adjacent to the cutter.
