PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monopole antenna which can easily be shorten in height and made more small-sized and shorter. SOLUTION: A radiating conductor 3 which is provided on a surface of a dielectric substrate 2 and has its lower end connected to a feeder 4 is formed having a meandering zone part 3a which continuously changes its extension direction to extend upward and downward on the whole. Consequently, the length of the radiating conductor 3 can be increased with its height unchanged, and then the conductor 3 is enabled to resonate to a radio wave having long wavelength (radio wave of low frequency). Further, wavelength shortening effect by the dielectric substrate 2 is added, thereby the height of the radiating conductor 3 needed to resonate to a desired frequency can greatly be reduced to make the monopole antenna more small-sized and shorter.
