APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CODING/DECODING OF STTD IN OFDM MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for coding/decoding of STTD(Space Time block coding based Transmit Diversity) in OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) mobile communication system are provided to improve performance without increasing the complexity. CONSTITUTION: A replica generator(314) inputs an OFDM symbol and generates a replica of the OFDM symbol by rotating the OFDM symbol by a circulative rotation amount decided with the first number of sub-carrier and the second number of multi-channels. Afterward, the replica generator(314) generates a replica of the OFDM symbol by rotating the OFDM symbol by a circulative rotation amount fed back from a receiver. A space-time block code coder(316) codes the OFDM symbol and the replica of the OFDM symbol by a space-time block code and outputs the coded OFDM symbols to be transmitted through two different antennas.
