PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to be capable of improving an explosion-proof characteristic by making a panel cohesion structure better. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube has a panel(2) having a predetermined curvature at inner and outer surfaces and a panel diagonal length over 600mm. In the case that a long-side thickness is t1, that a short-side thickness is t2, that a thickness of a diagonal part is t3, and that a height of a stud pin(11) is hs, hs/t1 is more than or equal to 0.8 and less than 0.7, hs/t2 is more than or equal to 0.7 and less than 1.0, and hs/t3 is more than or equal to 0.5 and less than 0.8. In case of a color cathode ray tube having a diagonal length between 300mm and 600mm, hs/t1 is more than or equal to 1.0 and less than 1.4, hs/t2 is more than or equal to 1.0 and less than 1.4, and hs/t3 is more than or equal to 1.0 and less than 1.2.
