PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified method for manufacturing a solid electrolytic capacitor which is superior in capacity and impedance, from low frequency to high frequency, and is also superior in heat resistance without inviting deterioration in the characteristics, even if it is subjected to heat treatment, such as solder reflow or the like. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the solid electrolytic capacitor comprises forming an oxide film that serves as a dielectric material on a piece of valve-acting metal, forming, on the oxide film, a conductive polymer layer of an electronically conjugated polymer containing a first protonic acid, which serves as a solid electrolyte layer, and soaking the conductive polymer layer in a solution containing a second protonic acid, which enables formation of a conductive polymer layer having heat resistance higher than that of the first proton acid, so as to substitute the first protonic acid in the conductive polymer layer having the second protonic acid.
