PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly sense eventual failure generated in any of the battery pack blocks constituting a battery pack system by means of current sensing. SOLUTION: Battery pack blocks 1a-1d each consisting of a plurality of single cells arranged in series connection are connected together in series and parallel so that the intended battery pack system 10 is formed, wherein the blocks 1a-1d are furnished with respective current sensors 4a-4d to sense their amperages, and a control part 5 fed with the sensing results processes the obtained amperages in the blocks 1a-1d using algorithm in accordance with the connecting form of the blocks 1a-1d, and thereby failure in the blocks 1a-1d is sensed.
