PURPOSE: A lamp reflector is provided to reduce an optical loss due to a polarizing variation by utilizing a high efficiency polarizer without using a PBS array. CONSTITUTION: An optical system includes a lamp(10), which is a light source for providing light. A parabolic mirror(12) is provided to polarize or transmit light generated from the light source. A reflector(13) is provided to reflect light transmitted through the parabolic mirror(12). A wave plate(11) surrounds the lamp(10) for varying an optical axis of the lamp(10). A light phase correcting plate(14) is provided to convert a phase of light, which is polarized through the parabolic mirror(12). The parabolic mirror(12) is fabricated by attaching a film type reflective polarizing plate to glass. |
