PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoding apparatus, a decoding method, a decoding program, and a decoding program storage medium that can decode a plurality of video/audio broadcast signals such as BS digital broadcast, CS digital broadcast and 110 deg. CS digital broadcast apparently at the same time. SOLUTION: The decoding apparatus is provided with a decoding state holding circuit 102 that saves and restores a plurality of states of a decoding circuit 103. The decoding circuit 103 selects a bit stream to be a target of decoding, from a plurality of bit streams to be decoded, and decodes the selected bit stream, performs saving and restoration of its state into/from the decoding state holding circuit 102, outputs a plurality of decoding results to the corresponding destinations, and completes a series of processes mentioned above within a predetermined period of time corresponding to each of the coded data.
