<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program rewriting method or the like capable of preventing malfunction of an image formation device caused by a failure or the like upon rewriting a program. SOLUTION: A model identifier of a start program stored in a digital combiner 100 is transmitted from the digital combiner 100 to a PC 401. In the PC 401, it is determined whether the model identifier received from the digital combiner 100 agrees with a model identifier of a new start program to be rewritten. In the case of agreement, the start program stored in the digital combiner 100 is rewritten into the new start program, to thereby realize on the PC 401 side a protection mechanism for forbidding rewriting into a start program having a different model.</p> |
