APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REMOVING DROSS IN GALVANIZING POT

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for removing dross in galvanizing pot are provided to solve surface defects of strip due to dross by injecting nitrogen gas into dead zone to collect dross, thereby floating the collected dross to the upper part of the pot before removing the floated dross. CONSTITUTION: In a hot dip galvanizing facility, the apparatus comprises nitrogen gas pipes (30) which are respectively installed at the front end part of sink roll and stabilizing roll according to a proceeding direction of strip inside plating pot, and at the end part of which a nozzle (34) is formed; a gas supply pipe (32) which is connected to the side part of the nitrogen gas pipes (30), and on which a pressure regulation valve is mounted to supply nitrogen gas having an appropriate pressure; a rotation shaft (20) installed inside the nitrogen gas pipes (30) so that the rotation shaft (20) is supported by a rotary joint (26); a driving motor (22) mounted on the upper part of the rotation shaft (20) to drive the rotation shaft (20); and rotation blades (24) installed at the lower part of the rotation shaft (20) so that the rotation blades (24) split bubbles of nitrogen gas ejected through the nozzle (34) to small bubbles.
