Protective covering made of ballistic sound- and temperature-protection material for land, air and water vehicles comprises a rapid-release fixing device (10) consisting of locking elements (16) having mushroom-shaped holding lugs (17) which are inserted in undercuts (13) of fixing rails (12) fixed to the vehicle. The undercuts have recesses (14) corresponding to the holding lugs. The locking elements are moved and locked with their holding lugs behind the recesses of adjacent protrusions (15) using operating and deviating devices (20, 22). Preferred Features: The locking elements have T-shaped guide parts (18) on the upper side opposite the holding lugs which are longitudinally guided into corresponding guide rails (19) of the rapid-release fixing device.
