The shroud (10), for dead or stillborn infants, is structured as a wrapping cushion. It has a square wrapping cloth (11), where the body is laid flat, and the material is folded over it. The wrapping cloth is in three layers, with a filling layer in a sandwich between two outer layers. The upper layer is a cotton flannel or gauze, and the lower layer is gauze. The center layer is of wadding composed of 80% of cotton which has not been degreased, and 20% viscose fibers, in a thickness of 2 cm. The center layer is reinforced at the center zones (18,25) of the shroud, from one corner (14a) to a diametrically opposed corner (14c).
