The disc brake comprises a base (10) fastened to the vehicle, a disc (20) fastened to the wheel hub, and two connections (30a,30b) hinge-mounted on the base and extending on the facing-away side of the disc and along an alignment which deviates from a diameter alignment of the disc. Two brake blocks (35) are fastened to the respective connections to face the disc and in the initial state maintain defined distances from the disc. A cable (60) is connected to the connections so as to move the connections in the direction of the disc. An independent claim is included for an adjustable force screw as part of an adjusting device.
