METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING MOTIFS

The invention relates to a method for identifying a motif or a combination of motifs having a boolean state of mutations which are predefined in a set of sequences. Said method is characterized by the following steps: a) aligning the set of sequences of ordered motifs represented by the single character code thereof; b) comparing a reference sequence with a set of sequences aligned in step (a); c) identifying motifs which have never mutated simultaneously or, alternatively, motifs which have mutated simultaneously at least once in at least one of the sequences of the set and which have not mutated in the other sequences of said set. The invention also relates to the use of motifs identified by said method for designing fragments of sequences comprising said motifs, for preparing pharmaceutical compositions useful in treating and/or preventing human, animal and/or plant pathologies, or for preparing therapeutic targets useful in screening therapeutic compounds.
