<p>The invention relates to a method and a device for xDSL data transmission with an optimised current consumption, between a first modem (CO modem) and a second modem (CPE modem), using at least one downstream channel and at least one upstream channel. According to said method, useful data is modulated onto a plurality of different carrier frequencies (bins) and is transmitted via the same two-wire line, whereby to save power during an existing connection, the current useful data load is determined and at least one of the carrier frequencies is disabled if the current useful data load is reduced.</p> |
