An upright full-height cabinet has a front panel which opens and closes on center-mounted sliding tracks located top and bottom providing access to the cabinet contents on both sides. The upper frame (5) esp. contains a pneumatic motion dampener consisting of a cylinder, piston and connecting rod. The piston connecting rod has esp. a slightly widened zone which causes additional friction interference against the cylinder wall when in the final stages of travel.
