The bar printer, especially for printing on tennis balls, has at least one holder for at least one ball, with at least one print head assembly (16) to print on the ball(s) in the holder. The print head has at least one exchangeable print head (26,28), as rotating print rollers to be changed under control. The changing print heads have different printing areas (22,24) and printing dies to be set by the control, so that two adjacent heads have at least four printing areas. The print heads have heated printing or embossing dies, or are screen printing templates.
