The tooth brush has along handle and a display system at the end of the handle remote from the brush head. The system has a small screen pushbuttons and a microphone and a loudspeaker. It plugs into a socket in a charging module. The charging module has a socket with an electrical contact (17) for charging the battery in the brush. It has an electrical cable (18) connected to the mains supply, and there is a data line (19). The charger includes pushbuttons (20) and an electronic transmitter-receiver unit (16). There is also a microphone (14), a loudspeaker (15) and a video display (13).
