The hammer (10) is assembled of a tool head (11) and a short shaft (12) extending into a rigid inner core (14), accommodated in the center of a multitude of leather rings (15), forming an ergonomically shaped outer layer (20). Two rings, made of cellulose (16) in a bright color, are integrated in the outer layer. A short stretch of the inner core (14) protrudes from the top of the outer layer and can be joined to a metal cap (23) by guiding a threaded bolt though a hole in the cap (23) into an inner thread located at the upper end of the core (14). The handle (13) can be adjusted regarding the level of rigidity by tightening or releasing the bolt.
