The device (1) for the fixing or retention of a crankshaft in its end region upon which is installed a V-belt pulley has a head section with a central through-bore (32) and several coupling elements by which the head section can be brought into rotationally fixed engagement with the fastening screws or the threaded holes or plug-in holes of the fastening screws of the V-belt pulley. A retention lever is installed on the head section to lock it. The head section has a cylindrical section (4) by which the head section has a clearance fit in a cylindrical recess in the V-belt pulley.
