Moulded plastic products coated with barrier layer(s) and optionally an outer layer, in which the barrier layer(s) contain(s) polyvinyl alcohol (PVAL). An Independent claim is also included for a method for coating plastic mouldings by applying and then drying an aqueous solution of a PVAL homo- or co-polymer.
