A cleaning mat system includes a base (350)with an upper suface and a lower suface internnected by a permeter edge. The perimeter edge includes a leading edge and an oppossed trailing edge. The upper surface of the base (350) includes upwardly extending teeth(358) covering the majority of the upper surface, and the lower surface includes downwardly extending teeth (358) on at least a portion of the lower surface adjacent the leading and trailing edges. A removable and disposable cleaning sheet (224) has an upper face for cleaning and an opposed lower face. The cleaning sheet has a pair of spaced-apart side edge portions and a central portion. In use, the cleaning sheet (224) is positioned on the base (350) such that the central portion is adjacent the upper surface of the base and the side edge portions wrap around the leading and trailing edges to be trapped between the teeth (358) and the floor. |
