PURPOSE: A coating material for the negative electrode of a secondary battery, a method for coating a negative electrode and a secondary battery containing the negative electrode coated by the method are provided, to suppress the generation of needle-shaped crystal in charging and to improve the charge/discharge efficiency of a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION: The negative electrode comprises an aromatic compound where an acrylate, methacrylate or allyl group is introduced. Preferably the aromatic compound is represented by the formula I, II, III, IV, V, VI or VII, wherein R is -C(=O)CH=CH2, -C(=O)C(CH3)=CH2 or -CH2-CH=CH2. The coating method comprises the steps of coating a negative electrode with the coating material and curing it with a UV ray or heat to form a thin film. Preferably the coating material is mixed with polyethylene glycol diacrylate or trimethylolpropane ethylene oxide triacrylate before coated. Preferably the negative electrode is made of an alkali metal. |
