PATIENT DATA MINING

The present invention provides a data mining framework for mining high-quali ty structured clinical information. The data mining framework includes a data miner (350) that mines medical information from a computerized patient recor d (CPR) (310) based on domain-specific knowledge contained in a knowledge base (330). The data miner (350) includes components for extracting information from the CPR (352), combining all available evidence in a principled fashion over time (356), and drawing inferences from this combination process (357). The mined medical information is stored in a structured CPR (380) which can be a data warehouse.
