A novel protein which is useful as, for example, a diagnostic marker for respiratory diseases, kidney diseases, central nerve diseases, metabolic acidosis, muscular diseases, inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, allergic diseases, spleen diseases, immune deficiency, liver diseases, digestive diseases, genital diseases, cancer and so on. This protein and compounds promoting or inhibiting the activity of the protein, which are obtained by a screening method with the use of the protein, are usable as safe drugs such as preventives and remedies for the above diseases and rejection inhibitors after organ transplantation.
