The disposable nappy (10) has front- and rear ends (12, 14) with longitudinal (18, 20) and transverse edges (22, 24). There are separate closure tabs (26) fastened to the long- and rear edge regions (14) which project away from the long edge. A closure section (28) is fastened at the end of the front region. The closures have mating fasteners to link the ends of the nappy about the person. In the new design, there are also holders (48) with mating fasteners on the rear end (14) to hold the closure tabs (26) folded back against them, at least during manufacture of the nappy. Also claimed is the method of manufacture of the nappy, substantially as described.
