PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary drum type screw press in which uniform washing is performed over a whole drum, the occurrence of insufficient washing due to installation places of washing nozzles is prevented, the quantity of washing liquid is smaller and a treatment stage and a washing stage can be performed at the same time while operating the drum. SOLUTION: The screw press is provided with the drum which is provided in a casing, pivotally and freely rotatably supported and has filtering holes, a compressing/conveying means for conveying a matter to be treated in an axial direction in the drum and two opening parts which are formed on both-end sides of the drum. The matter to be treated which is charged from an opening part on one side is separated into a solid matter and separated liquid while it is conveyed by the compressing/conveying means, the separated liquid is drained out of the filtering holes of the drum, and the dehydrated solid matter is discharged from an opening part on the other side formed between the end of the drum and a presser for compressing the solid matter from the opposite side of the end. In the screw press, a washing means for washing the drum from the outside of the drum is arranged in the upper part in the casing.
