PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device of H-shaped steel which enhances the positioning accuracy of H-shaped steel and maintains high product precision by positioning the H-shaped steel on the basis of its web surface which is relatively small in product variation. SOLUTION: This positioning device of H-shaped steel which positions the H-shaped steel in order to apply prescribed working to the H-shaped steel W is provided with a level block 1 on which the flange surface W1 of one side of the H-shaped steel W is placed, a positioning member which is in contact with the web surface W2 of H-shaped steel W and a clamp means 3 which presses the web surface W2 against the positioning member and clamps the H-shaped steel W.
